Baryancistrus beggini L239
Commonly known as the Blue Panaque (although it has been placed in the genus Baryancistrus), this species is definitely unusual. It's stocky build and beautiful dark blue-gray colour makes it very attarctive, and it's small size makes it a great alternative even for those who don't have big tanks.

L239 doesn't belong to either Baryancistrus or Panaque, but in a new, yet to be named genus. It's found among rocks and boulders in it's natural habitat, and feeds mainly on small crustaceans and invertebrates. It should be given a varied diet to ensure it's well being in aquarium. Clean, well filtered, warm water is required. Males grow impressive odontodes on their pectoral fins and cheeks, and although breeding reports are few they have been successfully bred several times in captivity.
